Troubleshoot

The dashboard lists no project

The sync job has not read one yet. docker compose -f docker-compose-impact.yml logs project-graph-sync:

  • no Hop project (project-config.json) under /projects: PROJECTS_DIR points at the wrong folder, or at a folder whose projects are deeper than one level.
  • could not sync <name>: the line after it says why, usually the graph database's password.
  • The image cannot be pulled: run docker login forge.putki.io, or set PUTKI_TOOLS_IMAGE to an image you can pull.

A change does not show

The sync job reads the projects every five minutes (PROJECT_GRAPH_SYNC_SECONDS). The log shows changed: for each pass.

A pipeline I deleted still counts as a broken reference

Something still calls it. Broken references names the file and the transform or action that calls it.

Panels show an error about the database

Grafana's login cannot read the graphs. docker compose -f docker-compose-impact.yml logs graph-db-init should end with Project graph database is ready. On your own PostgreSQL, the SQL file has to be run by a superuser: see Use your own PostgreSQL.

Asking for help

Send VERSION, docker compose -f docker-compose-impact.yml ps -a and the logs of project-graph-sync and graph-db-init.
