The migration report
Every import writes informatica-migration-report.md and conversion-metadata.json into the output
folder.
Sections
| Section | What it holds |
|---|---|
| Status counts | Mappings, transformations, the count per status, and how many are flagged for review |
| Structural functionality of generated pipelines | For each pipeline as a whole: functional, needs review, or non-functional as converted |
| One block per non-functional mapping | The transforms that break it: transform, issue and detail |
| Components | Every transformation of every mapping, targets included: job, name, type, status and the Hop transform |
Statuses
The status of a transformation is what it became in the generated pipeline: AUTO, or flagged for review for the types converted with caveats (see the transformation mapping), and UNSUPPORTED when it became a placeholder, whatever its type. The Hop transform column shows the transform that was generated.
Structural verdicts
| Verdict | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Functional | No structural finding, and no transformation flagged for review |
| Needs review | Transformations flagged for review, or a transform that was disconnected in the mapping too; nothing known to break the pipeline |
| Non-functional as converted | A placeholder on the data path, a transform that lost its hops in conversion, a stray transform the importer generated, or an empty pipeline: it will not behave as the mapping did |
The structural check is what tells you whether a pipeline can run; the status counts tell you how much of each mapping converted. Plan with the first.
conversion-metadata.json
The same data, as JSON:
| Field | What it holds |
|---|---|
schemaVersion, sourcePlatform | The format version, and informatica |
summary | totalJobs, totalComponents, autoCount, partialCount, manualCount, unsupportedCount, reviewRequiredCount |
jobs[] | One entry per mapping or task, with componentCount and components[] |
jobs[].components[] | sourceComponentName, sourceComponentType, status, targetHopTransforms, reviewRequired, and reviewFlags[] with a reason, a detail and a location |
Richer reports
An add-on that implements the importer's IImportReportProvider interface replaces this summary
with its own. Nothing in the importer depends on one being installed.
